Dream House: dwelling in fantasy
We're pleased to announce the unveiling of a new exhibit in the Mindport gallery this season. “Loose Parts” exhibit
“Loose Parts” is an educational philosophy that encourages decision-making, creativity, and freedom within play. By providing a variety of high-quality objects the “player” is encouraged to experiment respectfully without restraint or fear of mistakes. During loose parts play, guests can assign their own purpose or meaning to the objects. Mindport is pleased to host West of Roan as part of the 2024 Bellingham Folk Festival! Admission is by donations to the artists. West of Roan is multi-media performance group consisting of Annie Schermer and Channing Showalter. Ivan Colin is an abstract painter based in Bellingham, Washington. He was inspired early on by street art culture, where he was first exposed to the expressive world of graffiti. He attended Linfield College in Oregon, where he was influenced by many talented and inspirational professors. Ivan draws inspiration from movement, fluidity, and colors found in nature.
