Ivan Colin is an abstract painter based in Bellingham, Washington. He was inspired early on by street art culture, where he was first exposed to the expressive world of graffiti. He attended Linfield College in Oregon, where he was influenced by many talented and inspirational professors.

Ivan draws inspiration from movement, fluidity, and colors found in nature. He enjoys discovering anamorphic forms and contours that can reference many different things in the natural world. You can see more of his work here.

Ivan became involved in the art scene in Bellingham soon after his arrival here, and he’s maintained an active schedule of community driven projects ever since. You’ve probably seen his murals and street paintings around town, as well as shows in many small downtown businesses. In fact, one of Ivan’s pieces forms part of the trio of new murals on the Rocket Building, right around the corner. We’re pleased to have his series of new paintings on loan for a bit this winter. This work will be on view until December 31.
