Creek Conversations: Do you have a story to tell about Whatcom Creek?
Do you have a story to tell about Whatcom Creek? We want to hear from you. The current exhibit in our gallery space, A Creek Runs Through It, features large-scale photos of Whatcom Creek by Sam Bottman. We are going to open our gallery for informal evening gatherings during the months of February and March to invite people in to tell their own stories about Whatcom Creek. We've already heard so many unique stories about people's experiences with this important waterway that runs through the...
Winter Weather Closure
Hello, Friends! Bellingham has had quite the year! It seems like a natural time to take a break. We have been looking forward to seeing families and friends gather at Mindport this season, however, we're finding that it may be wisest to be closed this week with the arrival of very low temperatures, ice and snow. Mindport will be closed Wednesday Dec 21-Sunday Dec 25. This is a change to our earlier winter weather closure plans, but we weren't expecting this much ice! With the hope that severe...

He visited the creek during the flooding that happened in November 2021 and captured scenes from the flooded Maritime Heritage Park as well. If you want...

Open your Mind to Mindport: a Whatcom Talk article
Open Your Mind to Mindport, an article written by Margaret Bikman of Whatcom Talk, is a great opportunity to get a snapshot view of what has been going on at Mindport in the past few years. The article features the input of a handful of our staff, and most notably has a lot of information from our Director, Tallie Jones, who stepped into this role at Mindport in 2019. We hope you like it!
Spectrum Artist Introduction: Cat Snapp
Let us introduce you to Cat Snapp, our fifth and final featured artist in the Spectrum show, one that explores human perceptions of color through the work of five regional artists. When I first learned about Cat's work, my impressions were optimism, energy and fun. As I've gotten to know her more over the years, and had the chance to see more of what she does in the studio, I've seen these characteristics persist. It's an especially important time for optimistic art for so many of us! Cat...
